Hey guys! 

Long time no blog! Do you miss me? (Of course you do :P). Anyway, I’ve been inspired to write this post due to a recent podcast I’d listened to + because one of my translators urged me *cough cough Rakumon*. 

I have decided to help solve a problem that some of you shyer readers may be experiencing. 

1. Do you currently have a crush on someone but you do not know how to initiate a convo? 
2. Are you bored out of your mind because there’s nothing to talk about? 
3. Do you just need some entertainment in your life?

Have no fear, Grace is here! AHAHAHAHA. 

Assuming you have your crush’s contacts, here are 4 ways you can spark an interesting conversation:

 

Go to https://www.truity.com/ and take the personality test. It is free and should only take around 10 minutes. It is super interesting, and you get to know more about yourself. 

Here were some of my results: 

I find it very interesting because it breaks down the elements of your personality. You find out your dominant energy, cognitive style, values style, and life management style. But do it on the desktop/laptop. Otherwise, you’ll only see your top 3 personality type matches. 

If you want to unlock the full report, you have to pay. I’m a cheap person, so I did not pay. However, you still get a lot of good info out of the free report.

Anyway, why should you do this? 

According to several people, it is quite accurate. Not only can you find out more about yourself, you can also get to know more about your crush! 

It is an extremely easy way to start a conversation. You can say something like, “I just tried this personality test and it’s super accurate.” (or say whatever you want, you don’t have to follow my example). Then, post several screenshots of your results to evoke their curiosity. 

Next, proceed to ask, “Do you know your type?” 

Most likely, even if they already know their type, they would be interested in trying out the test to see whether their results are still the same. 

After all, this is about them. They got nothing to lose if it’s free. They’re not putting their personal information online. 

So assuming your crush does the test, you can then ask them what they think and whether it’s an accurate reflection of their personality. 

Chances are, if you had already shared your results with them, they wouldn’t mind sharing theirs with you. 

So now, you have a deeper understanding of who your crush is!   

 

Another way to spark an interesting conversation is to ask a scenario question. Don’t ask questions like, “How are you?” “What’s up?” 

Those questions suck, and you’re going to get shitty, boring replies. 

Instead, ask questions that require deep thought and storytelling. For example: What would you do if you won a million dollars right now? 

Why should you ask this question? 

Well, you get to find out what’s important to your crush. Depending on how they choose to spend their money, you will have an idea of the type of person they are.

Ex. If your crush goes, “I will invest most of it.” You’ll know that your crush is more of a thinking into the future type.

If your crush goes, “I’m going to give half to my family and then spend the rest travelling around the world.” You’ll know that they value their family and travelling a lot. 

You get the point. 

It’s a sneaky way to find out what they want in life and get them talking.   

 

The third way to spark an interesting conversation is to share funny jokes and memes. 

Now, why is this effective? 

You find out whether they think you’re funny or not. If they do not react to any of your jokes or puns, then they either do not want to talk to you or you guys have a completely different sense of humour. 

Here are a few lame jokes/puns:

Ground beef! AHAHAHAHAHAHA

If they have no reaction, I think you should give up while it’s early.   

Last but not least, try to Kokology cube test and then get them to do it! It is SOOOOOOOOOOO interesting. I heard about it from one of my friend’s podcasts and I even did the test!

Do the cube test as you read the article. It’s extremely intriguing. 

After completing it, you can tell your crush about it and give them the instructions. Depending on how fast you explain, the drawing itself should take no longer than 5-10 minutes.

You guys can compare your drawings with each other afterwards and go more in depth about the thoughts that were running through your mind at the time.
