Book 2, Chapter 68 - In One Go

Love Code at the End of the World

Harry swept an eye over all angles and got closer carefully. “Williams, are you hurt?” he asked, his eyes still extremely sharp and alert.

Williams was dead. He couldn’t speak.

“Williams, why aren’t you talking?” Mosie asked in confusion.

Harry went on high alert and stopped. “Williams?” He slowly raised his gun.

Ming You stood by Williams’s side so she could see my command. I nodded at her and she instantly squatted down and threw a color bomb that we had used during training. It was a training tool used as a mock laser grenade.

“Be careful!” Harry immediately moved aside.

Joey jumped hastily. However, he leaped and hit the ceiling as we were in the tunnel. *Dong.* He wasn’t hit by the grenade but he knocked himself out.

Mosie retreated in shock.

*Bang!* The color bomb exploded and the entire tunnel was covered in paint.

Ming You quickly retreated next to me. Sis Cannon, Xiao Ying, Arsenal and Xue Gie took out their guns on both sides of the tunnel. Together we shot towards the tunnel.

*Pak! Pak! Pak! Pak!* The hits and splashes of the color bomb resounded throughout the tunnel. The wall was covered in red paint and an intense paint smell filled the air.

This paint wasn’t easy to find in this world. By this time, we had wasted more than half of our supply.

We used Williams and Moorim as cover. Hence, Harry and his team members’ shots only hit Williams and Moorim’s backs. They groaned in pain from the hits.

“Mm! Mm! Mm! Mm!”

“Ugh! Ugh! Ugh! Ugh!”

“Hurry up and end this! I’m hurting!” Williams said through gritted teeth.

“Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah!”

“So noisy!” Sis Cannon couldn’t help but roar. She punched Williams’ stomach and complained, “You’re moaning as though Moorim was doing you!”

Moorim’s eyes were wide open. Williams looked at Moorim and raised his eyebrows at Moorim coquettishly while he rubbed his body against Moorim’s.

*Retch.* Moorim threw up.

“I’m dead! Don’t shoot anymore!” Mosie’s voice resounded in the tunnel.

Moorim and Williams let out a breath of relief.

I raised my hand and stopped everyone from shooting.

It became quiet again.

I looked into the tunnel and saw Mosie and Harry covered in red paint.

Mosielooked at his chest covered in red then rubbed his face, which was also covered in red. He rolled his eyes in distress. He might as well have turned himself red so that no one could see the red paint.

“You are playing dirty!” Harry stomped over.

I took huge strides forward to give tit for tat. I stood up against him proudly. “How did I play dirty?!”

“WIlliams and Moorim are dead! You got Ming You to fool us!” Harry pointed at Ming You.

I smirked coldly. “Don’t you know that this is called nothing is too deceitful in war?!”

“I don’t know what is called nothing is too deceitful in war!” He bellowed at me as he wiped away the paint on his face. “I only know that you played dirty!” He raised his hand and pointed at my face.

I narrowed my eyes and glared at him coldly. “You’re dead. You are not qualified to say I played dirty!”

“I was fooled! You won by plotting against us. How is that just and honorable?” he questioned loudly. Any wise person could tell that he was being a sore loser.

“Harry, wake up!” I pushed him so hard that he took a step back. I roared at him, “Have you fought with other metahumans?! Do you know how powerful they are?!”

“And you have?!” He looked at me and thought I was being funny.

I looked at him funny too. “Do you know how my knee got injured?! They pierced my knee!”

Instantly, the tunnel became quiet.

Everyone slowly walked up to me and looked at me in shock.

Khai came up from behind the dumbfounded Mosie. He saw that everyone had become quiet and stopped, confused, before he spotted Joey who had fainted by the side.

Harry was stunned. “You - didn’t you escape from Silver Moon City? Didn’t you lose your memory?” His eyes were filled with confusion all of a sudden. He couldn’t calm down. He looked at my knee then looked up at me again. His amber eyes were fueled with emotions then but he didn’t know what to tell me.

I took a deep breath to calm myself down. I furrowed my eyebrows and said, “I woke up in a scouting troop made of those Ghost Eclipsers you talked about!”

“What?” Arsenal came up to me in surprise. She appeared sympathetic and full of heartache. “Luo Bing, what have you been through?”

I became upset as I took a trip down memory lane. “I didn’t remember anything back then. When I woke up, I realized that there were two men in a prisoner’s cage with me. One is a person that all of you know, His Highness Xing Chuan.” I looked at everyone; Arsenal shook her head in confusion. “Why would His Highness Xing Chuan be captured?”

“He should have gotten caught on purpose,” I replied. Arsenal looked even more surprised.

All this while, they had never asked about my past. Most of the people thought I’d lost my memory when my escape pod fell. Arsenal didn’t know I was thrown off by Xing Chuan. Although Raffles and Harry knew and had wanted to ask what’d happened to me, they stopped pursuing the topic because I didn’t answer them.

I continued as everyone looked at me in shock and confusion. “This is merely my speculation. I think he was interested in the other guy in the prisoner’s cage. His name was He Lei.”

“He Lei?” Harry looked at me and said, “Xing Chuan is definitely interested in metahumans.”

“Yes.” I nodded. “He Lei’s superpower is teleportation.”

“What? Teleportation!” Raffles exclaimed in shock. “That’s a powerful and rare superpower. Speed-type metahumans are always regarded as important. No wonder His Highness Xing Chuan wanted to get He Lei.”

“That’s right. He Lei is very amazing. Something happened and we escaped from the cage. He Lei killed all the Ghost Eclipsers.” His image popped up in my head again, as my brain replayed the scene where he had chopped off all the Ghost Eclipsers’ heads under the crimson moonlight. “However, their captain had been amazing too. His superpower was to petrify into a cannon-like monster after he’d died. He could shoot countless stones at a very high speed. If it wasn’t for He Lei, I wouldn’t have only injured my knee but been shot into a hornet’s nest.”

“Luo Bing.” Arsenal held my hand that was growing cold. My breath was shivering as I drowned in that terrifying experience. “There was a girl that the Ghost Eclipsers played with and humiliated. They tore off all her clothes. They were such terrifying monsters!”

“Stop, Luo Bing.” Arsenal pulled me into a tight embrace.

“Stop, Brother Bing.” Sis Cannon, Xiao Ying and Ming You hugged me together to warm up my cold shell.

I took deep breaths but didn’t continue.

Harry and the guys had become quiet from my speech. They lowered their heads and the mood became solemn as if the air had frozen over.
