Book 2, Chapter 69 - Protect Princess

“What’s going on?” Joey woke up and Khai immediately covered his mouth, *Shh!*

I took a deep breath in and out, and calmed down a little. Looking at Arsenal and everyone else, I patted them with a grateful expression. They let go of me; my face was replaced with an indescribable expression and silence.

Now, I have them with me. It’s great.

I looked at Harry. “That’s why I’m not fooling around with you. I’m telling you seriously that your enemy might be a hundred times more cunning than I am!”

Harry watched me, his eyes shimmering with tension. His blade-like eyebrows were tightly knitted and his amber eyes were brimming with anger.

“When we captured the captain of the Ghost Eclipsers, he pleaded for mercy. He swore to us that he would definitely never report us nor would he return to the other Ghost Eclipsers.”

“You believed him?!” Harry almost shouted.

I shook my head. “Xing Chuan shot him in the head and killed him.”

“His Highness Xing Chuan…” Arsenal muttered Xing Chuan’s name.

“His Highness Xing Chuan is so cool!” Xiao Ying held her hands together, eyes shining in admiration.

I furrowed my eyebrows and continued, “We’d thought he was dead. But who knew his superpower was to revive after death!”

“What?! There’s such a superpower?!” Khai who had been the first to die exclaimed in surprise. Everyone gasped in shock too.

Raffles shook his head and sighed. “The superpowers in this world are so strange. This superpower is so scary. It is unpreventable. He could revive!”

“He petrified after he died. Harry, I didn’t scheme against you. This is called warcraft.” I looked at Harry seriously while Harry furrowed his eyebrows. He seemed like he couldn’t shake the anger off himself. I didn’t know what he was so angry about. Maybe he was like He Lei, furious with the Ghost Eclipsers.

I pointed at Sis Cannon, Ming You, Xue Gie and the others. “We have no stratagem that ensures success if we only rely on our superpowers. Sis Cannon, Ming You and Xue Gie’s superpowers are greatly restrained and couldn’t be in full play. Same goes to your people.” I pointed behind him. “You being able to save me meant that the Ghost Eclipsers aren’t far away from here. Although the troop had been completely wiped out by He Lei and Xing Chuan, who knows if they’ll take that route again. If you were to come across them then, would you tell them to their face to fight fair and square?!”

Everyone was stunned on the spot. I could see fear in their eyes, which was their instinctive reaction. They were truly afraid of the Ghost Eclipsers.

They were already so scared when they hadn’t even come across them. How could they fight against the Ghost Eclipsers?

I still remembered the fear in Arsenal’s eyes when she talked about the Ghost Eclipsers. That kind of hope that wished the Ghost Eclipsers would never find them.

Harry clenched his fists tight and his chest heaved up and down.

No matter how huge a planet was, they would still come across one another after going one round around. Maybe, it was fate that had sent me to Noah City that had been living comfortably.

I turned to look at my team members. “Today’s battle ends here. Return to rest. Think about your weak points, and think about how to hide your weak points and strengthen them.”

“Yes, Captain.” The girls seemed upset.

“Captain.” Xiao Ying looked at me with a sad face. “I never knew you had experienced that. Luckily, they didn’t find out that you are a girl,” she said softly and lowered her face. “If I were you, I would have been frightened and wouldn’t know what to do.”

Sis Cannon hugged her shoulders and Ming You became anxious.

Xue Gie clenched her fists, her eyes were filled with anger. She turned and stomped away.

Sis Cannon and the other girls watched her stomp away. Then, they turned to leave the tunnel quietly too.

“Luo Bing.” Arsenal looked at me. She didn’t know what to say. She hesitated for a while before she spoke. “So, His Highness Xing Chuan is looking for you but not his escape pod?”

My brain clenched. I can’t keep it from her anymore. Raffles immediately looked at me and shook his head. No one was willing to hurt the kind and beautiful Princess.

“Oh yeah, Brother Bing, what happened after that? You were with His Highness Xing Chuan, why did you suddenly fall?” Mosie asked curiously. Everyone looked at me with a questioning look.

“It turns out that Brother Bing is not a thief! Why didn’t you follow His Highness Xing Chuan back to Silver Moon City?” Joey asked.

“Because…” I started thinking about how to make up an excuse.

“Because Xing Chuan didn’t trust her!” Harry cut in furiously. Raffles looked at him in shock while Harry glared at Arsenal. “Arsenal, Xing Chuan is not worth liking! He is the one who threw Luo Bing off from space!”

Arsenal’s eyes were wide open. She looked at Harry in disbelief then at me. “Is this true? Luo Bing?”

I furrowed my eyebrows and said, “He was trying to ensure Silver Moon City’s safety. He couldn’t bring a stranger back as he wished.” I felt millions of arrows piercing my heart when I said that. It was so torturous to speak up for a person I hated!

Arsenal’s expression seemed better.

“Luo Bing! Why are you speaking for that guy!” Harry grabbed my arm angrily. Raffles quickly came forward. “Harry! That’s enough!”

Harry looked at Raffles then turned away. He crossed his arms angrily.

“Princess, go back and rest,” Raffles said gently.

“Yes, Arsenal. We still have training tomorrow,” I said gently too.

Arsenal nodded but she turned to leave in disappointment.

“Xing Chuan is a b*stard!” Harry punched the wall that was covered in paint after Arsenal had left. “You were injured back then and he threw you off!” Turned out that Harry was angry about this.

Khai and the other guys looked furious too.

“I never thought His Highness Xing Chuan would be that kind of person. I couldn’t tell.”

“I know, right. He is so gentle to everyone.”

“He is gentle to our Princess Arsenal too. That’s why Princess likes him.”

“You still want to fool her!” Harry turned to stare at me. “You’re only doing her harm! And you!” Harry grabbed Raffles by his collar. “You know what Xing Chuan is like. What are you maintaining his fake image for?!”

“Arsenal would be heartbroken!” Raffles said hastily.

“It’s better for her to know Xing Chuan that b*stard now than be fooled later on!”

“Xing Chuan wouldn’t like Arsenal!” Raffles suddenly shouted in sorrow. “We all can tell that Princess Arsenal has a one-sided love for Xing Chuan. If so, why not let Princess Arsenal continue to like the good Xing Chuan in her head?! Arsenal’s heart is so fragile. How could you break her beautiful fairy tale? That’s so brutal.”

Harry took a deep breath and he pushed Raffles away.

Raffles lowered his face and didn’t speak again.

No matter whether it was Harry or Raffles, they were caring for Arsenal in their own respective way. The Princess who they had grown up with was like a family member to them.
